Allen is a Christian contemplative, Centering Prayer practitioner and has been a student of Tai Chi and related Daoist internal arts for over 20 years. He weaves together the profound heart-centered practices of Christianity with the strong body and awareness-based practices of Daoism.
These workshops develop familiarity with natural movements and gestures drawn from both the Daoist (Tai Chi) and Christian traditions. Upcoming events will be held in Ossining, New York; Brattleboro, Vermont; Worcester and Greenfield, Massachusetts; and West Hartford, Connecticut.
“I have attended two of Allen’s workshops focusing on grounding our prayer life in the body and the body’s movement. His Christian faith and practice of Centering Prayer is enriched and informed by experience in traditions including Buddhism and Daoism and is firmly rooted in the natural world..."
“The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.” Ming-Dao Deng
